Since we’re down to the last three weeks of October, the CineFiles have decreed this remaining period to be the Month of Halloween. And we’re kicking it off with an episode on Werewolf flicks! We discuss Joe Dante’s classic THE HOWLING, Neil Jordan’s early work THE COMPANY OF WOLVES, Neil Marshall’s action packed DOG SOLDIERS and the teenage, angsty GINGER SNAPS.

None of us seem to be on the same page when it comes to these films. And it turns out that Jeff likes his werewolves to be teenage and angsty. And girly. And bemoans why vampires get all the romantic leads while werewolves are regulated to side characters. You see, Jeff is revealed to be a sensitive soul in this episode. Either that or he overdosed on a recent estrogen injection. Either way, Lola and myself bring our own perspective to this AND wind up teasing Jeff a lot.

What can I say? It’s show biz.

Quick note: we have two more Horror related subjects coming up you may want to be on the look out for. Next week there will be an overview discussion of THE AMERICAN SLASHER FILM. And on Halloween Day we will post an epic, incredibly cinematic and tragically CGI’d take on UNIVERSAL HORROR. Although you will most definitely thank us later, I urge you to do so now.  We could really use the affirmation since our remaining ego is stuck in escrow.

I thank you now, Eric! I eagerly await the next two! You Cinefiles are men among men. …wait, Lola’s there now… men and women among men. and women. Yeah, that doesn’t roll off the tongue.

Great episode and I love the Sleepaway Camp bonus. No love for Benicio del Toro’s take on the genre? Cest La Vie. Was that Eric or Reed Richards? LoL a Thanks for another show guys.

Just spat out my scotch watching that mini masterpiece. Hair Club For Men has a lot to answer for.
