Mike, Jeff and Eric are back for Episode 7 of The CineFiles Podcast, kicking the show off by discussing Mike’s take on JODOROWSKY’S DUNE and David Lynch’s DUNE before he gives his two cents on the political documentary CITIZEN KOCH. Jeff reviews John Slattery’s GOD’S POCKET, MUPPETS MOST WANTED and the David Lean-directed SUMMERTIME. Eric contributes his thoughts on HARMONTOWN, A GIRL WALKS HOME ALONE AT NIGHT and gets sidetracked describing the ills of Scientology while reviewing GOING CLEAR. In terms of news, they offer up opinions on the recent Marvel and DC casting announcements as well as the new SPECTRE teaser.
For the second half of the show, Andre finally joins us while reviewing LOST SOUL, the documentary on the making of THE ISLAND OF DOCTOR MOREAU. And after that… the crew is off and running, talking about their favorite unsung B-movie actors. Names like Pam Grier, Sybil Danning, Dick Miller, Bruce Campbell and (of course) Richard Lynch are brought up, and it is pretty epic. Well, sort of. Okay, not really. But we do talk about a lot of personalities that were mainstays during the 1950s throughout the 1980s Grindhouse/Straight-To-VHS eras.
